Supporting young people and adults through evidence-based, trauma-informed therapy.
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an extensively researched therapy designed to help people recover from trauma, PTSD and other distressing life experiences.
EMDR uses guided bilateral stimulation, such as side-to-side eye movements, sounds or taps, while distressing experiences are safely processed. The aim is to reduce their emotional intensity and support the brain’s natural healing process.
EMDR is commonly used for trauma and PTSD and may also assist with anxiety, panic, grief, distressing memories and other trauma-related difficulties. Suitability is discussed before treatment begins.
Read an independent overview of EMDR therapy, how it works and what to expect from the EMDR International Association.
